- The cardiac arrest must have been seen by someone (witnessed)
- You must be 18 years or older

- Epinephrine (adrenaline) must not have been given before the ambulance arrived
- The cardiac arrest cannot be due to trauma, drowning, hanging, choking, or pregnancy
