  • You are 18 years or older
  • Your cardiac arrest was outside the hospital, likely caused by a heart problem, and your first recorded heart rhythm was shockable (like ventricular fibrillation)
  • Your average blood pressure was above 40 mmHg (a measure of how hard your heart is pumping)
  • The emergency team decided to place a breathing tube before arriving at the hospital
