Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You have been diagnosed with ALS (definite, probable, or possible).
- Your breathing strength (FVC) is at least 50% of normal.
- You can swallow pills now and for the duration of the study.
- You have had 4 or more cramps per week during a 2-week screening period.
- You have had ALS for at least 5 years.
