Who can take part

  • You have a new diagnosis of nasopharyngeal cancer (a type of cancer in the back of the nose/throat) that has not spread to other parts of the body.
  • The main tumor is small (≤1.5 cm) and can be removed with surgery, and any swollen lymph nodes are also small and not stuck to important structures.
  • You are in good enough health to have surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy (for example, your blood counts, liver, and kidney function are normal or close to normal).
  • You have not had any previous treatment for this cancer, such as radiation or chemotherapy.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you are willing to come back for regular follow-up visits.
