Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with major depression (without psychosis) that comes back in episodes.
  • You have tried at least two different antidepressants that didn't work well enough.
  • You have been taking a stable dose of your current antidepressant(s) for at least four weeks.
  • Your depression is severe, with a score of 20 or higher on a standard depression rating scale.
  • You have not had certain other brain stimulation treatments (like ECT, TMS, or prior DBS) or serious conditions (like brain injury, stents, or substance abuse in the last 6 months).
