  • Aged 40 to 80 years old
  • Have good memory and thinking abilities (tested with a simple questionnaire)
  • For healthy participants: normal ankle strength and movement range
  • For stroke survivors: had a single stroke at least 3 months ago that affects one side, with some ankle movement remaining
  • Good enough vision to see and read, with glasses if needed
  • No metal implants or conditions that make MRI or brain stimulation unsafe
