Basilar artery stroke trial for later treatment

Who can take part

  • You had a stroke in the back of the brain (basilar artery or both vertebral arteries), confirmed by a brain scan.
  • You can start treatment within 24 to 72 hours from the time your stroke symptoms began.
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have a moderate to severe stroke (NIHSS score of 6 or higher) at the start of the trial.
  • You were able to do your usual daily activities without help before the stroke (mRS score 0 or 1).
  • You are not able to receive or did not respond to clot-dissolving medicine (IV thrombolysis).
