Fatty liver study for blood donors with weight concerns

This study collects blood samples from donors with excess weight or related health issues to better understand fatty liver disease. If you are a blood donor between 40 and 65, and have overweight, high blood sugar, abnormal cholesterol, or high blood pressure, you may be able to help.

Who can take part

  • You are a blood donor between 40 and 65 years old
  • You are overweight (BMI over 25) or have obesity
  • You have high fasting blood sugar (100 or more), or type 2 diabetes, or unhealthy cholesterol levels, or high blood pressure
  • You do not have other serious long-term illnesses, though well-controlled high blood pressure or diabetes not needing medication is okay
