Who can take part

  • You have ALS, another peripheral nerve-muscle disease, or are a healthy volunteer.
  • You are able to see clearly enough to do a computer test.
  • You don't have other serious medical, mental, or neurological conditions.
  • You don't have severe problems with movement or thinking that would prevent you from doing the test.
  • You don't have a history of alcohol or drug abuse that could affect test performance.
  • If you are a healthy volunteer or have a nerve-muscle disease, you cannot have a first-degree relative with ALS.
