Who can take part
- You are 19 years of age or older.
- You have both type 2 diabetes and essential high blood pressure.
- Your blood sugar control (HbA1c) is between 6.5% and 9.5%, and your fasting blood sugar is 270 mg/dL or lower.
- Your blood pressure is high but not extremely high (between 130-160 mmHg systolic, depending on whether you take blood pressure medicine).
- You are able to stop taking your current diabetes and blood pressure medicines (except for metformin) during the study.
- You have not had certain medical conditions like severe heart, kidney, or liver problems, recent surgeries, or infections.
