Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You had your very first stroke caused by a blood clot from the heart, and it happened within the last few hours.
  • You have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat).
  • You are eligible to receive or have received a clot-busting drug called alteplase.
  • You have no history of a brain condition like epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, or a meningioma.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you have not had a heart attack in the last 6 weeks.
