Who can take part
- You are 60 years old or older
- You are scheduled for a moderate or major surgery (like hip replacement or abdominal surgery) with general or spinal anesthesia
- You have mild memory or thinking problems (based on a short pre-surgery test)
- You do not have metal implants in your head, a history of seizures, or a brain injury
- You do not have diagnosed dementia or advanced memory loss
- You can attend all study appointments and understand Portuguese
