Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have type 2 diabetes and have been told you have mild or moderate non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR - an early stage of diabetic eye disease).
  • Your vision in the eye being studied is still good (at least 20/200 on a vision chart).
  • You have not had any severe eye diseases like macular edema, glaucoma, or retinal detachment.
  • Your blood sugar control is fair (HbA1c level of 8.5% or lower in the last few months).
  • You agree to follow the study procedures, including taking the study drug and attending visits.
