Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You have epilepsy that hasn't improved with at least two seizure medicines taken for 6 months or more.
  • You have a small hole in your heart (PFO) that lets blood flow the wrong way, seen on a special ultrasound.
  • You have had at least one seizure in the past 6 weeks and at least 12 seizures in the last year.
  • You are willing to keep your current seizure medicines stable during the study.
