  • You are between 18 and 65 years old
  • You have a severe traumatic brain injury (Glasgow Coma Scale of 8 or less)
  • You do not have a pre-existing heart condition
  • Your injury is not a penetrating brain injury (like a bullet wound)
  • You were not already taking a beta blocker or similar medication before your injury
