RESPLASH study: Testing a new procedure for hard-to-treat high blood pressure in diabetes

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have had Type 2 diabetes for at least 5 years.
  • Your HbA1c (average blood sugar over 2-3 months) is 6.5% or higher.
  • You take at least one diabetes pill, and your diabetes medications have not changed in the last 30 days.
  • You have high blood pressure that stays at 160 or higher (or 150 or higher with diabetes) even though you take 3 or more blood pressure medications.
  • You have been on the same blood pressure medications for at least 2 weeks.
