This trial studies if applying a gel made from your child's own blood (plasma rich in growth factors) can improve healing after surgery to repair a cleft palate. It is for healthy babies and toddlers between 6 and 18 months old with an isolated cleft palate that is not part of a genetic syndrome.

  • Your child is between 6 and 18 months old
  • Your child is generally healthy (no serious medical conditions)
  • Your child has a cleft palate that is not part of a genetic syndrome
  • Your child has not had a previous cleft palate repair that left a hole (fistula)
  • Your child does not have a blood disorder or platelet problem
  • Your child has not had radiation or chemotherapy for cancer
