If you or your loved one has been in a minimally conscious or vegetative state for at least a month and is medically stable, this study may be an option.

Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You must have been in a minimally conscious or vegetative state for at least 28 days.
  • You must be medically stable: normal temperature, steady vital signs, able to breathe on your own, and okay to have an MRI scan.
  • You cannot have metal in your head, a pacemaker, or other implanted electronic devices.
  • You cannot have poorly controlled epilepsy, a brain infection or tumor, or an allergy to electrode gel or adhesives.
