Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 65 years old (not over 65).
  • You have a new or worsening breathing problem that started within the last 2 weeks.
  • You have been on a breathing tube for 5 days or fewer.
  • Your oxygen level is very low despite being on a breathing machine.
  • You are not currently on any ECMO support.
  • You do not have advanced liver disease, active bleeding, or a planned end to life support within 24 hours.
