Who can take part

  • You are between 40 and 70 years old.
  • You are in generally good health with no major chronic illnesses.
  • If you have type 2 diabetes, your A1C level is between 6.5% and 8.0% and your BMI is between 30 and 45.
  • If you do not have diabetes or obesity, your BMI is 24.9 or lower and your blood sugar tests are normal.
  • If you have obesity but not diabetes, your BMI is between 30 and 45 and your blood sugar tests are normal.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking certain medications like steroids or weekly GLP-1 drugs.
