Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are awake and can follow simple commands (like moving your hand when asked).
  • You have had a tracheostomy tube for at least 24 hours without bleeding, pain, or infection.
  • You are able to try breathing without the ventilator during the day.
  • Your oxygen settings are low, your vital signs are stable, and you can communicate in Mandarin, Taiwanese, or Hakka.
