Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You had a stroke (ischemic, bleeding in the brain, or subarachnoid hemorrhage) and needed a breathing tube placed in your windpipe.
- Your vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, breathing rate, temperature, blood oxygen) are stable.
- The breathing tube was placed within 24 to 72 hours after your stroke.
- You or your legal guardian must sign a consent form agreeing to join the study.
- You do not have serious heart, lung, liver, kidney, or blood clotting problems, active cancer, or uncontrolled infections.
