Who can take part

  • Your child is between 0 and 18 years old.
  • Your child has a blood cancer, such as leukemia or lymphoma.
  • Your child currently has a fever with low white blood cells (called high-risk neutropenic fever).
  • Your child has not had an allergic reaction to ciprofloxacin or ceftazidime before.
  • Your child's fever is not from a blood transfusion.
  • Your child has not taken other antibiotics (except certain preventive ones) in the last 3 days.
  • Your child's kidneys and liver are working properly.
