Who can take part

  • You have a type of cancer that started outside the blood or lymph system (like breast, lung, or prostate).
  • The cancer has spread to up to 4 spots in your spine, with no more than 2 bones in a row affected.
  • You have not had radiation therapy on the same part of your spine before.
  • You are at least 18 years old, are able to care for yourself (Karnofsky score 60% or higher), and are expected to live at least 12 more months.
  • You agree to use effective birth control if you or your partner could become pregnant.
  • You are able to have an MRI scan and do not have metal implants, severe claustrophobia, or serious health problems that would make treatment unsafe.
