Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You have COPD and are currently having a severe flare-up that requires a breathing machine (non-invasive ventilation) to help your lungs get enough oxygen and remove carbon dioxide.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is less than 30 (not obese).
- You do not have sleep apnea, a neuromuscular disease, or a chest wall problem.
- You do not use a breathing machine at home already.
