Vitamin D3 for heart nerve health in men with epilepsy

Who can take part

  • You are a man between 20 and 40 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with epilepsy by a neurologist and have had at least two seizures more than 24 hours apart.
  • A blood test shows your vitamin D level is below 30 ng/mL.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18.5 and 24.9 (normal weight range).
  • You have been taking one of these epilepsy medicines for 6 months to 2 years: carbamazepine, phenytoin, or phenobarbital.
  • You are not taking any other medicines that affect the brain or nervous system, and you do not have certain other health conditions (like heart disease, diabetes, or kidney problems).
