Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You had an ischemic stroke (clot-caused) in the front part of the brain within the last 24 hours
  • The blocked artery was a large one (like the internal carotid or middle cerebral artery)
  • Doctors confirmed that blood flow was restored to a near-perfect or perfect level (mTICI 2c or 3) after removing the clot
  • You cannot have severe kidney disease or be allergic to the dye used in imaging
  • You must not have a pacemaker or other reason that makes MRI unsafe
