Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You had a severe type of heart attack called STEMI.
  • You are getting an emergency procedure (primary PCI) to open the blocked artery.
  • You are willing and able to give permission (consent) to join the study.
  • You do not have an ongoing infection, autoimmune disease, liver disease, advanced cancer, or take drugs that suppress your immune system.
