Who can take part
- You are 18 or older (about half of participants will be over 65).
- You have type 1 or type 2 diabetes treated with pills or insulin.
- You have a foot ulcer below the ankle that is Wagner grade 1 or 2, present for more than 4 weeks but less than 1 year.
- Your ulcer is between 1 and 25 square centimeters after cleaning, and hasn't shrunk by more than 20% in the last 2 weeks.
- You have good blood flow to your foot, shown by certain tests like ABI or TCOM.
- You are willing to use a special offloading boot or shoe for at least 14 days before treatment.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and if you could become pregnant, you agree to use birth control during the study.
