Who can take part
- You are having a planned outpatient surgery on your hand, arm, foot, or ankle that lets you go home the same day.
- You can come to a visit 2 weeks or less before surgery.
- You are willing to take the study supplement daily and avoid certain other medications and supplements.
- You are not allergic to N-acetylcysteine (NAC) or any capsule ingredients.
- You have not taken NAC or high-dose antioxidants in the last 14 days (or you are willing to stop).
