Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- You had a spontaneous brain bleed (not caused by injury or another condition).
- The bleed is in the upper part of your brain and smaller than 30 ml.
- You have a certain level of consciousness (Glasgow Coma Scale score 9 or higher) when you start the study.
- You can start the study within 72 hours of the bleed.
- Your risk of pneumonia from the bleed is high (score of 8 or more on a special checklist).
