Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older.
  • Your heart's pumping strength (ejection fraction) is 40% or less, measured by an ultrasound within the last 3 months.
  • You have symptoms of heart failure (like shortness of breath or fatigue) or have been hospitalized for it in the past year, or a blood test shows high NT-proBNP (≥600).
  • You have at least one narrowed or blocked heart artery that a doctor thinks can be treated with a stent.
  • You have been on stable heart failure medications for at least 4 weeks.
  • You are not currently having severe angina (chest pain) that needs emergency stenting or bypass surgery.
  • You have not had a stent placed in the last 12 months or bypass surgery ever.
  • You are not pregnant or planning to become pregnant, and are using effective birth control if applicable.
