Evinacumab for plaque buildup in HoFH

This observational study looks at how adding evinacumab to standard cholesterol-lowering therapy affects plaque in the heart arteries of people with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH). Who can take part

  • You must be 12 years or older (18 in Italy or France).
  • You must have a diagnosis of homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH), a genetic condition causing very high cholesterol.
  • If you are in the evinacumab group: you must have started evinacumab within the past 2 years and have a CT scan before and 18-24 months after starting it.
  • If you are in the standard therapy group: you must be on stable cholesterol-lowering medications (like statins, ezetimibe, or PCSK9 inhibitors) and have two CT scans 18-24 months apart.
  • Your LDL cholesterol must be 140 mg/dL or higher despite current treatment.
  • You can have had bypass surgery on only one heart artery, but not on multiple arteries.
