Who can take part
- You must have a disorder of consciousness, either unresponsive wakefulness syndrome or minimally conscious state
- You must be between 18 and 80 years old
- Your legal representative must give written permission for you to join
- You must have intact hearing pathways between your ear and brainstem on at least one side
- You must not be on sedatives or certain medications like barbiturates, antipsychotics, or benzodiazepines
