Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are currently hospitalized for a sudden (acute) illness but not in the ICU
  • You can provide written consent to join the study
  • You do not have a history of nerve or muscle disorders like peripheral neuropathy or myasthenia gravis
  • You are not in a coma and can have your muscle strength checked
