Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have had a mini-stroke or stroke related to a blocked brain artery, and your last one was between 14 and 90 days ago.
  • You can walk and care for yourself (mRS score 0-2).
  • You have at least one risk factor for hardening of the arteries (like high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol).
  • You are not able or willing to have bypass surgery.
  • A scan shows a short blockage (15mm or less) in a major brain artery and low blood flow beyond it.
