Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You had a sudden blockage of the main artery in the back part of your brain (basilar artery)
  • Your stroke is severe enough that you have a score of 10 or higher on the NIH stroke scale
  • You are able to start the clot-removal procedure within 24 hours of the first symptoms
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder, active infection, or known allergies to the study drug or contrast dye
  • You are not pregnant or planning pregnancy in the next 90 days
