Who can take part
- You are 18 or older and weigh at least 110 pounds (50 kg), with a BMI of 45 or less.
- You were in the hospital within the last week for a very high blood pressure episode (top number 180 or higher, or bottom number 110 or higher), and you are now ready to go home (or have been home less than 7 days).
- At your screening visit, your resting blood pressure (top number) is still high at 145 or higher.
- You have a diagnosis of heart disease or kidney disease (like heart failure, coronary artery disease, or chronic kidney disease).
- You have not had a stroke, heart attack, or heart procedure in the last 30 days, and you do not have significant liver disease.
