Who can take part
- You have AML that has come back after treatment, hasn't responded to chemotherapy, or is high-risk even in remission; OR you have MDS with increased blasts that didn't improve enough with treatment
- You are between 18 and 65 years old
- Your heart, kidneys, liver, and lungs are functioning reasonably well (assessed by blood tests and breathing tests)
- Your overall health status is good enough to tolerate transplant (Karnofsky score of 70% or higher, meaning you can do most normal activities)
- You do not have active hepatitis, HIV, or liver cirrhosis
- If you are a woman, you are not pregnant
