Who can take part

  • You have AML that has come back after treatment, hasn't responded to chemotherapy, or is high-risk even in remission; OR you have MDS with increased blasts that didn't improve enough with treatment
  • You are between 18 and 65 years old
  • Your heart, kidneys, liver, and lungs are functioning reasonably well (assessed by blood tests and breathing tests)
  • Your overall health status is good enough to tolerate transplant (Karnofsky score of 70% or higher, meaning you can do most normal activities)
  • You do not have active hepatitis, HIV, or liver cirrhosis
  • If you are a woman, you are not pregnant
