Who can take part
- Be an adult (18 or older) with high blood pressure readings between 130–170 mmHg
- Not take blood pressure medications, or take up to 2 stable medications (Part A only)
- Have stopped most blood pressure medications for at least 3 weeks, except calcium channel blockers or water pills (Part B only)
- Not have secondary hypertension (high blood pressure caused by another medical condition)
- Have normal kidney function and balanced potassium levels
