Who can take part

  • You have symptoms from a slow heartbeat and need a permanent pacemaker
  • You have heart failure with a preserved ejection fraction (your heart pumps at least 50% of its blood with each beat)
  • You show signs of heart failure through test results (like elevated BNP blood test, hospitalization history, or diuretic use)
  • Your pacemaker will be able to pace your heart in a natural way (not just in the lower chamber)
  • Your heart rate is slow enough that the pacemaker will do most of the work (not just back you up occasionally)
