Who can take part
- Age 18 or older
- Newly diagnosed HPV-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (throat cancer) that has not spread to distant sites
- Cancer must be resectable (surgically removable) and you must be willing to have surgery
- Good overall health and organ function (blood counts, liver, kidney, and heart function within acceptable ranges)
- No prior immunotherapy, cancer vaccines, or certain other cancer treatments
- No active autoimmune disease, severe allergies to vaccine components, or serious heart, lung, or infectious disease conditions
