Who can take part
- You must be between 18 and 65 years old.
- You must have thyroid eye disease that is causing vision loss (called 'optic neuropathy') that your doctor says needs urgent surgery to relieve pressure on the optic nerve.
- You must have either not improved with initial steroid treatment, or you cannot take steroids and need direct surgery.
- Your thyroid levels should be normal or only mildly abnormal.
- If you have diabetes, your blood sugar must be fairly well controlled (HbA1c less than 9%).
- You must not have had orbital decompression surgery in the last 6 months.
