Who can take part

  • You had a heart attack (acute coronary syndrome) within the last 3 days and received emergency artery-opening treatment (PCI)
  • You have at least one additional blocked artery (50% or more narrowed) that hasn't been treated yet
  • Your kidneys work well enough (creatinine ≤2 mg/dl or eGFR ≥30)
  • You are not pregnant and do not plan to become pregnant during the trial
  • You do not have severe heart failure or cardiogenic shock (very weak heart pumping)
  • You are able to give informed consent and understand the trial
