Who can take part
- Age 50–70 years old
- BMI (body weight relative to height) between 25–30 kg/m²
- Blood sugar control level (HbA1c) depending on your current status: ≤7% if you have type 2 diabetes, ≤6.5% if prediabetic, ≤5.7% if no diabetes
- Not taking certain cholesterol or fat-metabolism medications (ezetimibe, fenofibrate, omega-3 supplements, or similar drugs)
- Kidneys working well (eGFR ≥60) with no signs of kidney disease for 3+ months
- Willing to stop or limit alcohol during the study
