Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with depression (including bipolar depression) and are currently in a depressive episode
  • You are admitted to a participating hospital in the Mental Health Services of the Capital Region of Denmark
  • Your psychiatrist has referred you for ECT and you have agreed to it
  • You are currently taking anti-anxiety medications (like benzodiazepines) or sleeping pills at a minimum dose
  • You are voluntarily receiving ECT (not involuntary treatment)
  • You can read and understand Danish
