Early Lumbar Drainage for Brain Bleeding Treatment

Who can take part

  • Age 18–85 years old
  • First-time brain bleed confirmed by CT or MRI scan with bleeding in the brain's fluid chambers
  • Had an external ventricular drain (EVD) placed within 48 hours of symptom onset
  • Generally healthy before this bleeding event (able to live independently)
  • Able to start the study within 24 hours of drain placement
  • No serious untreated heart, blood vessel, or tumor conditions; no bleeding disorders or active bleeding elsewhere
