Who can take part

  • You are 65 years old or older
  • You have mild-to-moderate cognitive impairment (diagnosed by a memory test score between 15 and 24)
  • You are having major surgery and expect to stay in the intensive care unit (ICU) for at least three days after surgery
  • You do not have severe dementia, severe mental illness history, or active suicidal thoughts
  • You do not have severe hearing or vision loss, severe vertigo (dizziness), or a history of severe nausea after surgery
  • You are not currently on a breathing tube and do not require one for more than 24 hours after surgery
