Throat Cleaning Device to Prevent Pneumonia After Stroke

Who can take part

  • Recently had an acute ischemic stroke (confirmed by CT or MRI scan)
  • Age 18 or older
  • Glasgow Coma Scale score between 6 and 12 (a measure of alertness after stroke)
  • Do not currently have a breathing tube or need a breathing machine
  • Able to give written consent (you or a legal representative)
  • No existing lung infection or other active infection in the body
