Brain Protection Device During Aortic Valve Replacement

Who can take part

  • You have severe aortic stenosis (narrowing of the aortic valve) causing symptoms and are scheduled for TAVR
  • Your carotid and brachiocephalic arteries (major neck blood vessels) are the right size (6.5–10 mm and 9–15 mm) with no significant blockages
  • You are at least 18 years old and able to understand the study and consent to participate
  • You do not have contraindications to blood thinners, contrast dye, or the nitinol metal used in the device
  • You have not had a recent heart attack (within 30 days) and do not have existing blood clots or infections in the heart
  • You are able to undergo required imaging (MRI) and clinical follow-up visits
